Your privacy

We are The Barkway Players, a small amateur dramatic group based in Barkway in North Hertfordshire. We don’t collect much personal data – we’re not clever enough to use data from cookies, for example (although our web site uses them). But we are committed to keeping such personal data as we do collect safe. Membership list We keep a list of our members which includes names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers. This list is used solely for the purpose of maintaining contact with members, for administering rehearsals and so on. Contact form Our web site uses a contact form provided by Typeform.com. They have their own privacy policy. Information you submit using the contact form, for example your email address, will be used by us solely for the purposes of replying to you in an appropriate way. Online ticket sales We use a system called Ticket Tailor to sell tickets online. They have their own privacy policy which is clear that they act as data processor on our behalf, but that it is our responsibility to explain how we use your personal data. The system collects names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. These are used solely for the purpose of issuing tickets and for informing you of any important information relating to a performance for which you have booked tickets. We do not share this information with anybody else, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for this purpose. Mailing lists We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to maintain a mailing list of those who have purchased online tickets. This is used solely for informing purchasers of any important information about a performance for which they have bought tickets. We keep a separate members’ mailing list using the same platform. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve any such mailings. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of ouremails or by emailing our data protection officer Edwin Kilby by using the contact form. We delete these mailing lists when they have served their purpose.
